COLLECTOR'S LOT OF TWO FRENCH ISSUED P-38 PISTOLS. MAUSER P38 334G 9MM MODERN; C&R Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard markings. French star on right side of slide. Gun is WaA135 inspected. Matching numbers on slide, frame and bbl. Matching finish jvd mag is WaA706 inspected. Metal grips. This gun is described on pg. 41, pictured on pg. 43 of The P38 Pistol vol. 2 by Warren Buxton. Accompanied by a 1942 dated P.08 holster that has been modified for use with a P38. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Fine condition. Most of the finish with wear at high points and handling marks. Metal grips retained most of the dark plumb color. Markings are clear. Fine bore is bright with sharp rifling. MAUSER SVW45 P38 FRENCH, AUSTRIAN MARKED 9MM PISTOL, WITH RARE HOLSTER. MAUSER P38 7173I 9MM MODERN; C&R; IMPORT Cal. 9MM 5" bbl. Standard markings on left side of slide. French star, Austrian NPv markings on right side of slide. French circled flaming bomb police mark as well as Austrian eagle "BH", on left side of frame. Austrian eagle NPv, "ITM" mark on right side of frame. Austrian proof marks on bottom of bbl. Matching SN's on slide frame bbl. Chocolate Bakelite grips. Eagle 359 marked mag is not matching. This gun is explained on p. 83, pictured p. 88 of The P38 Pistol, Vol. III, by Warren Buxton. Accompanied by very rare unmarked holster, featuring a pressed cardboard flap, mag pouch, back. Belt loops, front body, closure strap hold-down tab are all leather. Closure strap is a replacement. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Good condition. Finish wear on high points, front strap and sides of slide. Markings are clear, grips are fine with light handling marks. Bore is fine with sharp rifling. Fine mechanical function.
