COLLECTOR'S LOT OF P-38 PISTOLS BY WALTHER. WALTHER P38 859A 9MM MODERN; C&R; IMPORT Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard markings on left side of slide, Russian capture "X" above orig SN which has been X'd out and matching number to frame stamped underneath it. Eagle 359 inspector proofs on left side of slide. "ac" marked on left trigger guard web. Brown Bakelite grips. Bbl is unmarked, number appears to have been removed from front. Gun is accompanied by tag that states "Mount gun for orphan S marked parts", and details which parts are S marked. We do not know the significance of this marking. Also comes with spare mag catch. Mag appears to be unmarked with the exception of an S on the spine. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Good condition, as Russian arsenal refinished with forced matched serial numbers. Pitting on slide. Markings are legible on gun. Grips are fine with light handling marks. MAUSER BYF44 DUAL TONE P38 9MM PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. MAUSER P38 2857E 9MM MODERN; C&R Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard markings on gun. Matching SN's on frame, slide and bbl. Bbl is blued, frame, slide and small parts are phosphate. Proper black Bakelite grips. Blued WaA135 marked mag. This gun is described on pg. 30, pictured on pg. 31 of The P38 Pistol , vol. 2 by Warren Buxton. Accompanied by a black leather flap holster, marked on back "P.38/jwa/4". PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Fine condition overall. With finish wear to high points.Phosphate on frame is somewhat mottled. All markings clear. UNUSUAL MAUSER AC43 P38 9MM PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. MAUSER P38 2312A 9MM MODERN; C&R; IMPORT Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard markings on left side of slide, orig SN having been X'd out and matching number to frame stamped above it. Slide was originally an FN made slide for a zero series Spreewerke. Marked on right side of slide with an "M", "U", Nazi eagle. This gun appears to be Russian capture and refurbish with bbl number also X'd out and renumbered to match frame. Light brown Bakelite grips. WaA706, "jvd", "P38/U" marked mag. Accompanied by black leather clam shell holster, marked on back "joa/1943", WaA706, "P38". PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Fine condition as arsenal refurbished. All markings clear. Light pitting under finish on right side of slide. WALTHER MOD HP AUSTRIAN BH P38 9MM PISTOL. WALTHER P38 20387 9MM MODERN; C&R; IMPORT Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. This gun is an Austrian reworked Mod HP. Walther markings removed from slide during refurbish. Eagle/N proof on front right of slide and right side of frame. Orig SN marked on right side of frame and top right flat of slide. Matching Austrian applied numbers added to left side of slide and frame. Matching number on front of Austrian replacement bbl. Chocolate Bakelite grips. This gun is described on pgs. 61 & 62, pictured p. 69 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. III by Warren Buxton. "ac", eagle 359 marked mag. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Good condition as refurbished. Finish wear on high points and front grip strap. All markings clear, except where noted. Grips are very good with light dings and handling marks. VERY SCARCE NO CODE WALTHER P38 9MM PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. WALTHER P38 7137B 9MM MODERN; C&R Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Marked on left side of slide "P.38", SN. There is no manufacturer or date code on this gun. Reported to be one of two known by Warren Buxton. Eagle 359 inspectors marks. Matching SN's on slide, frame and bbl. Very dark chocolate Bakelite grips. Eagle 359 marked mag. This gun is described on p. 244, pictured p. 245 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. I by Warren Buxton. Accompanied by black leather clam shell holster marked on back "fsx41", "P38". WaA mark is worn and illegible. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Good condition, showing finish wear to high points, front left side of slide, left side of bbl, front strap. Pinprick pitting in a few area. All markings clear. Brown Bakelite grips. Matching SNs on bbl, frame, and slide and locking lug.Eagle 359 inspection "P.38v" marked magazine. Accompanied by white stitch hard shell leather holster with gtg 1941 makers marking and Eagle WaA101 inspectors marking. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Fine condition, retaining most of orig finish. Markings are clear. Light dings along the right side of slide. Excellent grips. Excellent bore. Fine mechanical condition.
