COLLECTOR'S LOT OF BYF/MAUSER P-38 PISTOLS. BYF/MAUSER P38 4033C 9MM MODERN; C&R; IMPORT Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard Mauser p38 markings. Eagle 135 inspected. "byf/43" marked on left side of slide. Later production black plastic grips. The SN of bbl is located on the left lug, bbl is also postwar production. Matching SN's on slide, frame and bbl. Eagle 135 inspected mag. Comes with black leather postwar clam shell holster. Closure tab has a horse head peeking out of a horseshoe with some letters underneath it at the bottom. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Fine as postwar arsenal refinished. All markings clear. The C at the end of SN appears to be an importer addition. Grips are fine, showing light handling marks. Bore is fine with sharp rifling. Mechanics are fine. Holster is very good with light scuff marks and strong stitching. 52342-30 GER (2,000-3,000) Holster
MAUSER BYF44 POSTWAR AUSTRIAN COMMERCIAL REWORK P38 9MM PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. MAUSER P38 1743S 9MM MODERN; C&R Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. This gun is a postwar Austrian commercial rework. Standard markings on left side of slide. No markings on right side of slide. All external numbers matching, slide renumbered to match. Eagle 88 inspector mark on left side of frame after SN. Right side of frame marked with Austrian eagle, NPv, "222.62". 61 marked NPv commercial postwar bbl. Postwar black plastic grips. Mag is unmarked. Black leather clam shell holster is marked on back "A.FISCHER/BERLINC.2/1944", "P.38". PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Fine condition as refurbished. Markings clear. Grips are fine with light handling marks. Fine bore is bright with sharp rifling. Mechanics are fine. POSTWAR ASSEMBLED MAUSER BYF 44 AUSTRIAN POLICE ISSUE P38 WITH WWII HOLSTER. MAUSER P38 E528 9MM MODERN; C&R; IMPORT Cal 9mm. 5" bbl. This gun has a post WWII production alloy frame. Marked on left side of slide "P.38", "byf/44". Marked on right side of slide eagle "WaA135", French five-pointed star. Left side of bbl lug is "WaA135" inspected. The left side of frame is marked with SN, Austrian eagle "BHO". All external numbers matching. The slide and bbl SN's have a "g" suffix. Postwar black plastic grips, postwar mag marked with banner Walther "P38 9mm". Accompanied by black leather clam shell holster. Marked on the back "ndk" in an oval, eagle "WaA77", "44" in a circle, "P38" in an oval. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Fine condition overall, as a postwar assembled gun. Markings are clear. Bore has light frosting with sharp rifling. Mechanics are fine. Grips are solid with light handling marks. Holster originally appears to have been light brown and then dyed black. Markings on back show some wear but are legible. Stitching is solid. FRENCH MAUSER SVW45 P38 9MM PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. MAUSER P38 8056I 9MM MODERN; C&R; IMPORT Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard slide markings on left side. Right side of slide marked with French star. "WaA135" proof on left side of bbl lug. Gun does not appear to have any Nazi inspector marks on slide and frame. Matching SN's on slide, frame and bbl. Black plastic grips. This gun has a black finish to it. Mag is marked "jvd" on the left side, "P38/U" on right side. Accompanied by black leather and cardboard backed holster, which appears unmarked. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Very good condition, showing finish wear on high points, front strap and top of bbl. All markings clear. Grips have numerous handling marks and dings. Fine bore is bright with strong rifling. Fine mechanical function. Holster is in good condition, showing scuff marks and slight crazing to leather.
