COLLECTOR'S LOT OF THREE WALTHER P-38 PISTOLS. WALTHER P38 2132G 9MM MODERN; C&R; IMPORT Cal. 9mm 5" bbl. Standard markings on slide, with the addition of an eagle N commercial proof at front on right. Eagle 359 inspected. Eagle N proof on right barrel lug, eagle 359 proof on left barrel lug. Matching SN's slide frame and barrel. Circle with "TRA" on left trigger guard web. Right side of frame marked with eagle N, Swedish shield with three crowns, "96". We believe this to be a postwar Swedish police marking, although we cannot verify it. Black plastic grips. Eagle 88 mag. Accompanied by black leather flap holster. Marked on back WaA23, "bml/44", "P38". Flap appears to be a more modern replacement. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Good. Showing most of a probable arsenal refinish. All markings clear. Grips have small dings and scratches, there is a hole at the front bottom of the left grip. Bore is worn with light pitting. WALTHER AC43 P38 AUSTRIAN 9MM PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. WALTHER P38 7135 9MM MODERN; C&R; IMPORT Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard markings on slide. Eagle 359 inspected. Matching SN's on slide frame bbl. "c" was removed from end of frame SN during arsenal refurbish. Austrian eagle "BH" marked on left side of frame. Brown Bakelite grips. Eagle 359 mag. is not matching. There is a "5" painted on top of left grip and magazine floor plate. This gun is explained on p. 220, pictured p. 221 of The P38 Pistol,Vol. III by Warren Buxton. Accompanied by leather clam shell holster. Marked on back "bml/42", WaA23, "P.38". Front of holster is black, rear of holster is brown. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Very good, as arsenal refurbished showing wear and handling marks. All markings clear. Grips are fine showing light handling marks. Bore is good with moderate pitting, showing wear. Mechanics are fine. Visible rifling. Holster has crazing to front body and flap. WALTHER AC44 P38 9MM PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. WALTHER P38 4131L 9MM MODERN; C&R Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard markings on slide. Eagle 359 inspected. Matching SN's on slide frame bbl. Left side of slide is marked with "4", eagle 359, "4" after SN. There is also a "4" stamped on left side at rear of frame. We do not know the significance of this mark. Brown Bakelite grips. Eagle 359 marked mag. Accompanied by black leather pebble grain flap holster. Maker marking is difficult to make out due to pebble grain, "1944" mark is clear. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Very fine condition. All markings are crisp and clear. Finish exhibits light handling marks. Bore is fine with sharp rifling. Grips show minimal handling marks. Mag is refinished. Fine mechanical function.
