COLLECTOR'S GROUP OF THREE WALTHER P-38 PISTOLS. WALTHER P38 5522B 9MM MODERN; C&R Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Marked on left side of slide "P.38", SN, "ac 45". Eagle 359 inspected. Plum or "copper" color finish on frame, blued slide and bbl. Brown Bakelite grips. Matching SN's on slide, frame and bbl. Eagle 359, WaA706, "jvd" marked mag. Accompanied by black leather clam shell holster marked on back WaA938, "1945". PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Good condition. Finish wear on high points, worn off of front strap, trigger guard, top of firing pin cover. All markings clear. Grips are good, small hole at top rear of left grip. Fine bore is bright with sharp rifling. Fine mechanical function. Holster is solid with strong stitching showing wear and scuff marks. 52342-91 GER (1,800-2,400) Holster
SCARCE EAGLE L MARKED POLICE MAUSER P38 9MM PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. MAUSER P38 3089 9MM MODERN; C&R Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard markings as well as proper Eagle N proof on left side of slide and bbl lug. WaA135 inspected. Eagle L proof for police issue on right side of slide. Matching SN's on slide, frame and bbl. Left Bakelite grip is black, right Bakelite grip is chocolate. "P.38v" marked mag. This gun is described on p. 73, pictured on p. 75 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. II by Warren Buxton. Accompanied by black leather pebble grain flap holster. Marked on back "bml/44". WaA & P38 markings are hard to see due to pebble grain. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Fine condition, finish wear on high points, and small area on right side of slide. All markings clear. Grips have light handling marks. Very good bore with light pitting throughout. VERY RARE HZA MARKED WALTHER AC44 P38 9MM PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. WALTHER P38 7299E 9MM MODERN; C&R Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard markings on left and right sides of slide, as well as extremely rare HZa proof on right side. Eagle 359 inspected. Matching SN's on slide, frame and bbl. Chocolate Bakelite grips. "jvd" marked mag. This gun is described on p. 270, pictured on p. 271 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. I by Warren Buxton. Accompanied by black leather flap holster, marked on back "gxy 1945", "P38". PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Good condition, with areas of light pitting. Markings are clear. Grips are very good with light handling marks. Bore is excellent, bright with sharp rifling. Mechanics in need of attention as trigger does not engage on first pull in sgl action, needs to be pulled twice.
