COLLECTOR'S LOT OF FIVE AUSTRIAN BH MARKED WALTHER P-38 PISTOLS. WALTHER HP 7797C 9MM MODERN; C&R; IMPORT Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard Mod Hp markings on left side of slide. Eagle/N proof at front of left side of slide. Matching numbers on slide, frame and bbl. Austrian eagle "BH" marked above SN on left side of frame. Eagle 359 inspected after SN on left side of frame. Checkered black plastic grips appear to be postwar replacements. Mag is unmarked with exception of non-matching SN lightly electric penciled on spine. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Good condition. Markings clear. Finish wear on high points with handling marks, thin on front strap. Bore is worn with pitting and visible rifling. Grips have light dings and handling marks. Slide occasionally gets stuck in closed position. Mechanics in need of attention. 52342-88 GER (2,500-3,500)
AUSTRIAN BH MARKED POSTWAR WALTHER P38 9MM PISTOL. WALTHER P38 142522 9MM MODERN; C&R; IMPORT Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard two line marking, left side of slide. Austrian eagle BH marked after SN on left side of frame. All external numbers match. Austrian eagle/BH 2 on left bottom trigger guard web. Dated 61 on upper left trigger guard web. Checkered black plastic grips. Mag is marked with circle "2" on floorplate, non matching number on spine. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Fine with light wear to finish on high points, minor handling marks, thinning on front strap. All markings clear. Grips have dings and handling marks. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. WALTHER MOD HP AUSTRIAN BH REWORK 9MM PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. WALTHER HP 5153 9MM MODERN; C&R; IMPORT Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard two line marking on left side of slide. Austrian eagle BH marking on left side of frame. Austrian applied SN on right side of frame. Orig matching SN's on slide, frame and bbl. All orig markings are still visible. Black Bakelite left grip, chocolate Bakelite right grip. This gun is described on p. 73, pictured p. 75 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. III by Warren Buxton. Banner Walther P38 marked mag. Accompanied by brown leather Swedish 1939 dated holster. Closure strap on holster, where the date is, is a riveted on replacement. "Stockholm" marked in ink on inside of flap. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Very good, as arsenal refinished. Markings are clear. Finish with light wear to high points and handling marks. Grips have minor dings and light handling marks. Bore is fine with sharp rifling. Fine mechanical function. Holster is solid with strong stitching, minor scuff marks. 52342-122 GER (500-600) Holster
AUSTRIAN BH MARKED MAUSER BYF44 P38 9MM PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. MAUSER P38 4052S 9MM MODERN; C&R; IMPORT Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard marking on right and left sides of slide. Matching SN's on slide, frame and bbl. WaA135 inspected. Austrian eagle BH stamp on left side of frame. Marked "GERMANY" on right side of frame. Brown Bakelite grips. Eagle 359 inspected mag. This gun is described on pgs. 79 & 83, pictured on p. 84 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. III by Warren Buxton. Accompanied by brown leather flap holster marked on back "bla/1944", WaA159, "P38". Appears to have been dyed black originally which has worn down to base color. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Good, showing significant finish wear with minor pitting in a few areas. Markings are clear. Grips are fine with light handling marks. Bore has moderate pitting throughout with visible rifling. Fine mechanical function. Holster is worn as noted with several holes, strong stitching. 52342-123 GER (400-500) Holster
POSTWAR WALTHER P38 AUSTRIAN BH MARKED 9MM PISTOL. WALTHER P38 118190 9MM MODERN Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard two line marking on left side of slide. Austrian eagle BH mark just after SN on left side of frame. All external numbers match. Austrian eagle "BH 2" mark on left trigger guard web along with eagle N. Alloy frame. Checkered black plastic grips. Banner Walther P38 marked mag. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Very good, with finish wear to high points and light handling marks, finish wear to front right side of slide. All markings clear. Grips have light dings and scratches, piece broken out at top of left grip. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Fine mechanical function. 52342-124 GER (300-400)
