ULTRA-RARE JAPANESE ISSUED SUGIURA SHIKI 6.35 POCKET PISTOL.JAPANESESUGIURA1926.35MODERN; C&RCal. 6.35. 3" bbl, blue finish overall. Checkered brown wood grips. Manufactured in China under Japanese occupation from 1944-1945. It is estimated that fewer than 500 of these unique Pocket model pistols were ever produced. These guns were made for the China Expeditionary Force with extremely limited distribution. Observed SN range is from 103-475 with fewer than 10 having been observed or identified. An extreme rarity for Japanese collectors with little information having been printed or confirmed. SN 192 is a relatively new discovery and one of the finer examples to have been observed. 8 rnd magazine capacity, straight blowback operation with concealed hammer. CONDITION: Very good overall with most blue finish remaining, having approximately 25% thinning with numerous small abrasions on slide and grip straps. Bore is frosted with strong rifling and mechanics are functional, all visible numbers are matching. This being said, this is an exceptional example of the Sugiura Shiki 6.35 pistol. 52707-1 TDW (2,500-3,500)
