EXTREMELY SCARCE AND SOUGHT JAPANESE TYPE 38 FOLDING STOCK PARATROOPER CARBINE.JAPANESETYPE 38 PARATROOPER CARBINE47036.5MODERN; C&RCal. 6.5 Jap. 19" bbl. One of the scarcer models for the Japanese collector. This Type 38 carbine retains all of its orig hinge pieces and non-matching dust cover from another rifle. Visible numbers non-matching. Forend cap and bolt match receiver SN. Lower receiver floor plate numbered 44 as is right hand side receiver hinge. Chrysanthemum intact on top of receiver. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is fair to good orig finish with light to moderate pitting particularly on dust cover with loss of finish to gray patina on hinge hardware. Mechanics are fine. Stock has period era repair on both sides just to the rear of receiver and flexes slightly in its socket as is all too common. Bore is very good with some light pitting.
