DESIRABLE OLYMPIA PISTOL, JAEGER MODEL, IN AN ORIGINAL SHIPPING BOX.WALTHERJAGER OLYMPIA5258-0.22LRBOXMODERN; C&RCal. .22LR. Walther Jaeger Model with 4-5/8" bbl in pre-war Walther banner OP shipping box. Standard configuration Walther Jaeger pistol with 4-5/8" bbl having screw-in front sight and horizontally adjustable rear sight. Left side of slide with Walther banner followed by 2-line Zella-Mehlis address followed by "OLYMPIA-PISTOLE" SN at rear of slide is repeated on left tang and suffixed with an "O" (Olympia). Right side of slide is marked with a "Crown/N" that is twice repeated around the chamber area. On the right side of the slide "CAL .22 long rifle". Unlike the full size Olympia pistols, there is no groove under the bbl, though the standard frame remains grooved and drilled with two holes for counter weights. Left side of frame has safety positions denoted with an "S" and "F". 2-pc wrap around walnut grip with thumb rest and extensive checkering secured with two screws. Complete with magazine whose wood extension is SNd to the pistol. No internal screwdriver. Complete with an orig shipping box whose lid is imprinted with the gold Walther banner. "OP" in left corner. Attached to the lid is a white/green Walther label denoting "OLYMPIA / SPORTPISTOLE / CAL.22". No included accessories. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Professional/factory restoration retaining over 99% high polish salt blue. The only way to tell this is a non orig finish is by looking at the edges around the back of the slide/tang and, in another location, noticing the soft "Crown/N" proofs. Excellent, sharply checkered dark blonde grips whose condition is in keeping with that of the pistol. Same applies to the matching magazine. Orig box is tattered with considerable losses. 52342-167 LMA (1,000-1,800)
