SCARCE L.C. SMITH EAGLE GRADE 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN WITH FACTORY LETTER.L.C. SMITHEAGLERE4639512MODERN; C&R; ESACal. 12 ga. 30" Nitro steel bbls. 2-3/4" chambers. Chokes mod/full. Full length matted top rib with small steel mid bead and ivory front bead with gold bar near breach. Regular weight frame. Dbl triggers, automatic ejectors, automatic safety. Capped full pistol grip buttstock checkered in 2-point pattern with 14-1/4" LOP over contemporary Hawkins ventilated pad. Splinter forearm with banjo roll-type release and triangular ebony tip, checkered in 2-point pattern. Receiver is nicely engraved with pheasant on left, duck on right, surrounded by punch-dot and scroll engraving. All visible SN's match. WEIGHT: 7 lbs, 12 oz. PROVENANCE: Letter from the Cody Firearms Museum indicating that the gun was shipped on July 26, 1922 to Edward K. Tryon. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retains approximately 80% blue finish. Buttstock and forearm are excellent and retain most of an old professional refinish. Receiver retains about half its orig light case color. Bores are bright and shiny.
