INTERESTING SMALL BORE DRILLING BY FRANZ SODIA, FERLACH.FRANZ SODIADRILLING108.2420/20/.25-35 CALMODERN; C&RCal. 20 ga/20 ga/.25-35 Cal. 26-5/8" Prima Essen steel bbls with 2-3/4" chambers, bbls choked MOD/MOD. Matted top rib with rear buckhorn sight, mid flip-up sights and steel front blade with small ramp. Double triggers, extractor and a non-automatic safety. Greener crossbolt locking with back action locks. Capped pistol grip buttstock with small cheekpiece on left side, with 14" LOP over lined horn buttplate. Receiver is near fully engraved with deer, rabbits and geese all surrounded by well cut oak leaf pattern and has side clips. Splinter forearm with Deeley release checkered in 4-point pattern. Visible SNs match. Weight: 7lbs 1oz. CONDITION: Good. Bbls retain approximately 65% orig blued finish with beginning erosion at grip. Buttstock and forearm are good. Checkering has thinned and both retain most of an older restored finish with sling swivel hole plugged in butt and a couple of minor areas of white paint near buttplate. Top lever return spring is broken and in need of repair - an easy fix. Otherwise mechanics are functional. Shotgun bores are bright and shiny; rifle bore is good with fowling and shows some wear to lands and grooves. These small bore drillings are scarce and this is a nice, higher grade example. 51873-17 JSL (1,000-1,500)
