AYA MODEL 1 SIDELOCK DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. AYA 1 540946 410 MODERN Cal. 410. 26" bbls. 3" chambers. Choked IMP MOD/IMP CYL. Very high grade AYA with hand detachable side locks, dbl triggers, ejectors, automatic safety, with the front trigger articulated. Smooth concave rib with maker's name and address, left bbl is marked "W.L.Moore", small steel front bead sight. Hand detachable side locks with cocking indicators, full coverage extremely fine English style rose and scroll engraving. "Safe" inlaid in gold on the top tang. Wood is very nicely figured walnut with checkered splinter forearm and straight stock with teardrop behind locks and checkered in 2-point pattern at wrists with gold oval at toe, 14-1/4" LOP over a checkered butt. WEIGHT: 5 lbs, 6 ozs. PROVENANCE: The Forrest G. Rhodes collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine, appears near new, has been fired but used very little. Retains virtually all its fine factory finish to both metal and wood. Stocks with light handling marks. The case colors on the receiver and lockplates are brilliant. Bright shiny bores.
