GORGEOUS MERKEL 203E 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN. G. MERKEL 203 27477 12 MODERN; C&R Cal. 12 ga. 27-1/2" Bohler steel bbls. Chambers 2-3/4". Choke imp cyl/mod. Full length solid matted top rib with white front bead. Dbl triggers, automatic ejectors, non-automatic safety. Straight grip buttstock checkered in 2-point pattern with 14-3/8" LOP over orig Merkel checkered HRBP. 3-piece forearm checkered in 4-point pattern with Deeley release. Full sidelock receiver is fabulously engraved with deep cut setter and pheasants in game scene on left, large hawk and ducks in flight in marsh scene on right, surrounded by well executed scroll engraving. Bottom of frame engraved "Suhler Waffenwerk / Gebruder Merkel, Suhl", with scroll engraving. Long tang trigger guard is also scroll engraved. All visible SN's match. WEIGHT: 6 lbs, 15 ozs. CONDITION: Fine, as lightly field used. Bbl retains approximately 95-97% orig blue. Buttstock and forearm are excellent and mostly sound with a small repair on right side of forearm at frame and retain most of their orig finish with some finish added for preservation. Receiver is excellent with some minor staining. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanics are crisp. Gorgeous Merkel that will last many more lifetimes! 52589-8 JSL (5,500-7,500)
