VERY EARLY W. AND C. SCOTT "PREMIER" HAMMERLESS SHOTGUN WITH EXTRA EJECTOR BARRELS BY STOEGER.W.C. SCOTTSXS PREMIER1082712GA2 BBL SET(1879) Cal. 12 ga. 26" Orig Damascus bbls and 28-1/4" newer German made steel bbls. Orig bbls engraved with W C Scott address, patents and "The Premier Quality". Steel bbls are marked "A. F. Stoeger" on top and have German nitro proofs on flats. and are fitted with ejectors. Early "Premier" hammerless action (patent use no. 101) is fitted with toggle safety on left sidelock, crystal cocking indicators, treble grip (third fastener), and has been converted to ejector. Action is engraved with near full coverage well cut scroll. There are raised beads around breech ends of bbls. Nicely marbled stump figured European walnut horn capped pistol grip buttstock measures 13-3/4" over checkered horn buttplate. Orig bbls have their matching forend with Scott's long front lever release. German bbls made with long splinter ejector forend have Deeley release. Orig bbls: Bore diameter: left -.729, right - .729. Bore restrictions: left - .000 (cyl), right - .000 (cyl). Wall thickness: left - .034, right - .030. Drop at heel: 2-5/16", drop at comb: 1-11/16". Cast about 1/2" off. Weight: 6 lbs. 12 oz. LOP: 13-3/4". Newer bbls: Bore diameter: left -.720, right - .720. Bore restrictions: left - .047 (extra full), right - .032 (full). Wall thickness: left - .034, right - .034. Drop at heel: 2-9/16", drop at comb: 1-13/16". Weight: 7 lbs. 0 oz. LOP: 13-3/4". CONDITION: Fine. Damascus bbls retain nearly all of a beautiful brown, most likely orig. Newer bbls have nearly all of their orig blue with some light flecking. Action and locks retain 30 - 40% orig color. Stocks have most of their orig finish with numerous marks and scratches. Damascus bores are very fine, lightly frosted. Steel bbl bores are excellent. Action is tight with both bbl sets. Ejectors slightly out of time. 52419-1 MGM208 (3,500-5,500)
