EARLY WEATHERBY SOUTH GATE BOLT ACTION SPORTING RIFLE. WEATHERBY RIFLE 2417 300 WBY MAG MODERN; C&R Cal. 300 Wby Mag. 26" bbl. Medium sporter weight. Custom Weatherby built on 98 Mauser action prior to development of the Mark V. Hooded bead front sight on a C.A. Dahl bbl band ramp. Action has base only for Williams receiver sight. Redfield 3X-9X gloss finish scope with standard crosshairs on Leupold mounts. Polished bolt handle has one panel and checkering. Jaeger sgl stage trigger. Receiver and bolt have matching numbers. California style Monte Carlo cheekpiece walnut stock with hand checkering. Rosewood forearm tip and grip cap have white line spacers. LOP is 13-1/2" over orig Weatherby black ventilated pad. Military style leather sling on QD swivels. CONDITION: Fine. Over 95% orig blue. Stock shows spot of worn and touched up finish with scratches and handling marks. Left side of stock along action has added wood filling slot from previous side mount scope attachment. Receiver has plugged holes for side mount. Mechanics are fine. Very good bright bore.
