WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 ROUND BARREL TAKEDOWN RIFLE WITH SHEARD FRONT SIGHT AND LYMAN TANG SIGHT.WINCHESTER188614773445-90MODERN; C&RCal. 45-90. 22" rnd bbl, half-magazine takedown. Full blue finish, straight grain American walnut stocks with Winchester hard rubber buttplate. Bbl shows Winchester address rolled on left side in front of rear sight. Left rear side is marked "NICKEL STEEL" with Cal. mark to the rear. Receiver has SN stamped on lower tang behind lever with patent marks under lever. Tang sight was not removed. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains 80% dark blue finish with some drifting to plum toward the muzzle. Markings are sharp. Sheard front sight has clear markings. Rear sight is very good. Bore is dirty with brightness and visible rifling, may clean up. Receiver retains 50% blue finish overall that is bright in protected areas with the balance drifting to a pleasing plum/brown, especially at the carry point. Hammer and lever are a silver/grey patina with traces of case color remaining. Rear sight is very good and shows considerable blue. Markings are sharp. Stocks are very good, full sized and show minor handling marks overall. Shotgun buttplate is very good with clear logo. Forend cap is a plum/brown patina. Mechanics are crisp. A very nice takedown 86 in a great and rare caliber for this model. 52405-12 TEP (3,500-4,500)
