WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 ROUND BARREL, FULL MAGAZINE RIFLE WITH TANG SIGHT AND CRESCENT BUTTPLATE. WINCHESTER 1886 82199 40-82WCF Cal. 40-82 WCF. 26" rnd bbl, full magazine, blue and case colored finish with nickel forend cap. Straight grain American walnut stocks with crescent buttplate. Bbl shows 2-line Winchester addressed rolled in front of rear sight with Cal. mark to the rear of sight. Sights are standard for this model. Receiver has SN stamped on lower tang behind lever, Lyman tang sight. Tang sight was not removed. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Bbl and magazine tube show a smooth plum/brown patina overall with traces of blue in protected areas and a few slight stains toward the muzzle. Bbl markings are sharp. Sights are very good. Bore is dark with visible rifling. Receiver shows a case colored finish that has mostly silvered out with slight traces of color in protected areas. Bolt retains 50-60% orig blue. Loading gate shows traces of fire blue. Hammer and lever are both silver/grey patina with slight traces of case color in protected areas. Tang sight is very good with traces of blue. Stocks are very good, full sized and show only minor handling marks overall. Stocks may have been lightly cleaned long ago. Buttplate is also a silver/grey patina with a few stains at the heel. Forend cap retains 60-70% nickel finish. Forend cap may be an old replacement. Mechanics are crisp. 52405-2 TEP (3,000-4,000)
