RARE WINCHESTER DELUXE MODEL 1886 RIFLE WITH 20" BARREL AND LYMAN RECEIVER SIGHT. WINCHESTER 1886 147839 33WCF MODERN; C&R Cal. 33 WCF. 20" rnd bbl, half-magazine, blue finish, straight grain American walnut stocks with checkered pistol grip and forend. Bbl shows Winchester address rolled on left side in front of rear sight "NICKEL STEEL BARREL / ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER" is rolled on left side behind sight followed by Cal. designation. Upper tang is marked "MODEL 1886 / WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK". SN is stamped on lower tang under lever. Patent dates are also stamped under lever. Receiver has Lyman sight mounted on left side. Stocks have Winchester sling eyes mounted, hard rubber shotgun buttplate. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains 80% somewhat dull blue finish with sharp markings. Lyman front sight is very good. Rear sight leaf has been removed.Bore is frosty with strong rifling. Receiver has flaked to a silver/grey patina with some bright blue remaining in protected areas around the sight. Bolt shows 80% blue. Hammer and lever are a silver/grey patina with hints of case color. Receiver sight shows considerable blue. Markings are sharp. Stocks are very good, full sized and show most of the finish. Stocks have sharp checkering and handling marks overall with a small gouge on the left side of buttstock. Buttplate is very good with clear logo and small chip missing on the left side. Grip cap is very good. Forend cap is a silver/grey patina with generous traces of blue. Action is crisp. An opportunity to obtain a rare 20" bbl 86 rifle which pre-dates the style introduced by the Model 71 in 1935. 52405-7 TEP (2,000-3,000)
