WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 SADDLE RING CARBINE WITH HALF-MAGAZINE.WINCHESTER9298534825-20WCFMODERN; C&RCal. 25-20 WCF. 20" rnd bbl, half-magazine, full blue finish, straight grain American walnut stocks with carbine buttplate. Bbl shows correct Winchester model and Cal. designation on the left rear side. Right rear side of bbl shows Winchester address. Bbl and receiver shows "WP" proofs in an oval. Marble's front sight, standard carbine rear sight. Receiver has saddle ring attached. Upper tang is marked "WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK / MADE IN USA". SN is stamped on lower forward part of receiver. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl shows a smooth grey/brown patina over all with some muzzle wear and considerable traces of blue. Bbl markings are sharp. Sights are very good. Bore is very frosty with visible rifling. Receiver retains considerable traces of blue in protected areas around the saddle ring, hammer and lever with the balance drifting to a smooth silver/grey patina. A distinct saddle ring shadow is evident. Tang screw is a replacement. Markings are sharp and clear. Hammer and lever are also a silver/grey patina. Stocks are very good, full sized and show an old varnish finish with miniscule handling marks overall. Buttplate is also a silver/grey patina as is the bbl band. Mechanics are crisp. A nice Model 92 carbine in a rare configuration. 52504-2 TEP (3,000-5,000)
