WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 SADDLE RING CARBINE. WINCHESTER 1892 873679 25-20WCF MODERN; C&R Cal. 25-20WCF. 20" rnd bbl, full magazine, full blue finish, straight grain American walnut stock with steel carbine buttplate. Bbl shows Winchester address rolled on the left side in front of rear sight with Cal. designation to the rear. "WP" in oval is stamped at the bbl breech and on the receiver ring. Bead front sight, ladder rear sight, upper tang is marked "MODEL 1892 / WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK REG. U.S. PAT. 0FF & FGN". SN is stamped on the lower forward part of the receiver. Saddle ring is attached. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl and magazine tube show 50-60% blue finish that is drifted to a plum/brown with some roughness on the right side of the bbl. Sights very good. Markings sharp. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Receiver shows traces of blue with the balance flaked to a plum/brown patina. There is a stain at the carry point and some hacksaw marks on the left side where the saddle ring staple was once removed. Markings are clear. Loading gate shows traces of fire blue. Hammer and lever are dark brown patina. Stocks very good, have been cleaned and are slightly undersized with a few miniscule scratches and dents overall. Buttplate is a dark grey/brown patina. Bbl band is also a grey/brown patina. Mechanics are functional. A nice 92 carbine in a fun caliber to shoot with a great bore. 52253-8 TEP (1,500-1,750)
