ANTIQUE WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 TAKEDOWN RIFLE WITH LYMAN RECEIVER SIGHT, SET TRIGGERS AND FACTORY LETTER.WINCHESTER18944500630WCFCal. 30 WCF. 26" oct bbl, half-magazine, full blue finish, straight grain American walnut stocks with steel shotgun buttplate, Lyman receiver sight, double set triggers. Accompanying this rifle is a Cody Firearms Museum letter confirming all features and showing shipment on July 8, 1898 to Order Number 12106. PROVENANCE: The collection of Tim Zissler. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains 90% plus blue finish with some slight marring toward the muzzle and slight high point wear. Magazine tube also retains 90% plus blue finish. Bbl markings are sharp. Front sight is very good. Rear sight mortise is plugged. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Receiver retains 90% plus bright blue finish. SN mark is sharp. Receiver sight also shows most of the blue finish. Sight is stuck in down position, but can be freed. Upper tang mark is sharp, hammer and lever both retain a considerable amount of case color finish that has turned slightly grey on the lever loop. Loading gate shows fire blue finish. Shotgun buttplate retains 80-90% blue as does the forend cap. Stocks are fine, full sized and retain most of their orig finish with some miniscule handling marks overall. There is a small dent at the left wrist and a dark stain at the heel of the buttstock. Mechanics are crisp, set trigger is functional.
