Very rare New Haven Arms 50 rnd box of 44 Rimfire Henry cartridges. Cartridges have flat-nosed bullets and are without handstamp. Box has full green & black label with straight line border and no end label call-out. According to One Hundred Years of Winchester Cartridge Boxes 1856-1956, Giles & Shuey, boxes with this label were produced in the period 1862-1863 at the height of the Civil War. Few survive today in any condition, especially with orig ammunition. Boxes with this label complete with ammunition are second in rarity only to the extremely rare black label boxes. SIZE: CONDITION: Fair. Lid has taped broken corners with more tape on one side of the bottom for no apparent reason. The bottom is solid and intact. Label is heavily soiled with some water staining and wear, however, all of the lettering is completely legible. Box overall is mostly a dark brown patina showing wear on the edges and corners.
