WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 WOODEN SHIPPING CRATE.43-5/8" X 16" X 12" crate for 10 Model 1894 lever action rifles with 26" bbls. Left end marked with "4965" over partially visible label with red & blue markings on white background. Mid portion of label giving rifle specifications is largely missing. Right end has shipping label listing the SN's of all 10 rifles including 1390559, some SN's are only partially legible. Front & back of box is marked "WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK / MADE IN U.S.A." in red letters. Orig lid is attached by 2 added brass hinges with galvanized hook at right front corner. Inside of lid has mixed orig and added markings. Inside of box has 1 brace at mid-point. SIZE: CONDITION: Fair condition. Exterior has aged stained appearance with weathered erosion and chipping on corners and board ends. Bottom is reinforced with added brass screws. Lid has loose slates with side play. Only 30% of right end label remains and has areas of dark stained appearance. 52405-20 DS (500-1,000)
