ANTIQUE COLT MODEL 1873 SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER CIVILIAN ISSUE.COLTSAA3344745 COLTCal. 45 Colt. 7-1/2" bbl. Blue and case color finish with 1-pc American walnut grip. Top of the bbl shows correct bold 1-line Colt Hartford address bordered by dashes. SN appears on the frame, trigger guard, and backstrap; last 4 digits of the SN appear on the bbl under the ejector rod and on the rear periphery of the cylinder. SNs match. Frame shows 3-line Colt Patent mark on forward left side. Grip was not removed but appears original. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl address and SN marks are sharp. Ejector rod housing shows a slight space at the rear by the frame. Front sight is full sized. Bore is slightly frosty with strong rifling. Bbl shows a deep plum-brown patina with some touch-up overall. Frame is a mottled silver-grey patina with some slight roughness. Markings are clear. Trigger guard and backstrap are also a mottled grey patina with sharp markings. Screws are all replacements, as is the cylinder base pin. Cylinder is a somewhat rough mottled-grey patina, SN is legible. Bushing is a replacement and is free. Grips are good, left grip has loss at toe, right grip shows a trace of varnish at the top. Mechanics are functional. A nice honest example of a civilian issue Colt sgl action revolver made in 1877. 52696-3 TEP (2,000-4,000)
