COLT MODEL 1877 "LIGHTNING" DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER.COLT1877 LIGHTNING10781638COLTCal. 38 Colt. 4-1/2" bbl, blue and case colored finish, 2-pc checkered hard rubber grips. Bbl shows proper 2-lline address on top at the breech with Colt model designation and Cal. on the left side by the breech. SN appears on frame, trigger guard and backstrap. Last 3 digits of SN are stamped on the rear face of cylinder. Assembly number "152" is stamped on loading gate, further disassembly was not affected. Left side of frame shows 3-line Colt patent mark followed by Rampant Colt logo in a circle. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains 20-30% bright blue, especially in protected areas. Bbl markings are sharp. Front sight is full sized. Bore is bright with clear rifling. Ejector rod head is a replacement. Frame retains generous traces of case color in protected areas with the balance turning silver/grey patina. Trigger guard is mostly a silver/grey patina with blue in protected areas. Backstrap has a crusty brown patina with some roughness with blue on the apron. Hammer shows traces of fire blue. Cylinder is a silver/grey patina overall with some denting at one flute, chambers are clear. Traces of blue remain in some of the flutes. Grips are good with no missing pieces and high point wear at the bottom on each side. Colt logo is clear. Mechanics are functional.
