VERY FINE CASED 6" COLT 1849 POCKET MODEL PERCUSSION REVOLVER. COLT 1849 137355 31 Cal. 31. Very nice 6" pocket in standard configuration with 2-line New York address with brackets. All matching, made just prior to the Civil War in 1857. Gun retains most of its orig finish as does L-shaped gun tool. Emerald velvet lined walnut compartmentalized casing has 2-side eagle flask, 1858 dated pack of caps with loose bullets. PROVENANCE: Outstanding estate collection of Confederate and historical arms of Morris Racker. CONDITION: Very fine overall. Bbl retains over 90% bright orig blue with light pitting at muzzle and taper to cylinder retains about 30% bright blue with balance blue/grey. 2-cavity brass "COLTS PATENT" mold has tacking marks but handles are smooth. Cardboard cap container has good labels on both sides. 2-sided eagle flask is average with a medium mustard patina overall. Casing sound with large crack in lid, missing lock escutcheon. 51958-4 JS (5,000-7,000)
