GROUP OF 4 IVORY GRIPPED CIVIL WAR ALLEN & WHEELOCK PERCUSSION REVOLVERS.ALLEN & WHEELOCKSIDE HAMMER45/134/195/29532/22/32/32ESACal. 32. This is a fine group of variant Allen & Wheelock side lock revolvers popular early in the Civil War. Included in this grouping are three larger frame 32 Cal. examples with 3", 4" and 5" bbls, along with a petite 3" bbl 22 Cal. example. These guns are rarely found with ivory grips and this group all have orig factory grips. Accompanied by Mr. Ballard's hand drawn display cards. PROVENANCE: Lifelong collection of Roger Ballard. CONDITION: Good to very good overall. Guns have a mix of grey to brown patinas. Three guns have all matching SNs, including the grips, though the the 5" example has matching SN "295" on frame, arbor and bbl with un-serialized but orig ivory grips. Mechanics need attention overall, though all hold half-cock and full cock, discernible rifling in bores. 52703-22 JS (1,500-2,000)
