EXTREMELY FINE US MODEL 1877 TRAPDOOR SPRINGFIELD CARBINE.SPRINGFIELD1879 SRC14168445-70Cal. 45-70. Standard configuration with 22" bbl, 41-1/4" overall. Bbl correctly proofed with "VP" eagle head breech marked "US / MODEL / 1873" and lock is marked with spread-wing eagle "US / SPRINGFIELD". This is a fine example that would make a nice addition to an Indian War collection. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine overall. Bbl retains most of its orig blue, though thinning. Buttplate, trigger guard and bbl band retain about 70-80% of their orig bright blue finish. Breechblock and tang retain 90% of their bright and muted case colors. Stock is sound and well fit with the normal cosmetic storage, blemishes. Bright cartouche dated "1881". Mechanically fine with bright crisp bore. 51905-5 JS (3,000-4,000)
