FINE 1891 DATED US MODEL 1884 TRAPDOOR SPRINGFIELD RIFLE. SPRINGFIELD 1884 516942 45-70 Cal. 45-70. Standard configuration with 32-5/8" rnd bbl with long range Buffington rear sight. Inspector's cartouche opposite lock has clear "1891" date. This is the last version utilizing combination ramrod and bayonet. CONDITION: Very good to fine overall. Gun overall is plum/brown with strong traces of bright blue and muted case colors. Stock is sound and solid with typical storage dings and dents.
