SN: 1892. Surplus condition with near new blade of the brass mounted 2nd variety with Rock Island Arsenal scabbard. This is the first official Army knife made after the Ames Rifleman's Knives, made in 1849. These Pattern 1880's were made at the Springfield Armory and are so marked 8-1/2" x 2" blades.
