SHILOH SHARPS SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. SHILOH SADDLE RIFLE B6888 45-70 Cal. 45-70. Fine sporting rifle with 28" heavy oct bbl, 1/2" across the flats at the muzzle with Beech's style combination front sight, Sharps elevator 800 yard ladder rear sight, and elevator tang sight. Case colored frame, dbl set triggers with XXX quality flame grained American walnut buttstock, a pewter forend tip and a cheekpiece on the stock, with case colored steel buttplate. Buttstock and forearm are checkered. Left side of frame stamped "SHILOH RIFLE MFG.CO. / BIG TIMBER MONTANA". Visible SNs match. Weight: 10lbs 7oz. PROVENANCE: The Forrest G. Rhodes collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine, near new. Likely test fired only and retains nearly all orig finish to both wood and metal. Wood has minor handling marks.
