FINE CASED PAIR OF PHILADELPHIA TARGET PISTOLS BY E. ANSCHUTZ.E. ANSCHUTZTARGETNSN32CASED PAIR W/ACCESSCal. 32. 9" Octagon bbls with 6 deep groove rifling, are stamped "E. ANSCHUTZ" "PHILADELPHIA" on tops. Breech irons are fitted with rear sights adjustable for elevation. Bar locks are also stamped with makers name and address, and are engraved with sprays of shaded acanthus within geometric borders. Triggers are set. Schnabeled half stocks with no provision for ramrods have checkered flared grips. Blued steel trigger guards with finger spurs have stylized pineapple finials. Mahogany case is lined in green cloth, and contains a number of old accessories, including a loading rod, three compartment flask, and bullet mold. Some new accessories are also present. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain over 80% of their orig brown, with some flecking. Locks and breech plugs have traces of color where protected. Stocks have most of their orig french polish finish with numerous marks and scratches. Trigger guards retain most of their orig charcoal blue. Mechanically fine. Hammer of one gun cracked and repaired, but crack still visible and probably needs attention. Case is good. Interior re-lined. Accessories are good. 52674-2 MGM314 (6,000-9,000)
