CASED PAIR OF PHILADELPHIA DUELING/ TARGET PISTOLS BY J. E. EVANS WITH SOME ACCESSORIES.J. E EVANSDUELING TARGETNSN50CASED PAIR W/ACCESSCal. 50. 9-1/2" Octagonal smooth bore bbls are unmarked. Percussion locks with scroll engraving are also engraved "J. E. EVANS PHILADa" (worked 1850 - 1865). Pistols are iron mounted. Triggers are set. Stocks with no provision for ramrods have flared checkered grips and schnabeled forends. Silver ovals at tops of grips are engraved "MW". Brass bound rosewood veneered case is lined in purple cloth, and contains assorted old accessories including bullet mold and small copper bodied flask. CONDITION: Good, as partially refinished. Bbls re-browned. Lock of one gun has traces of color, the other re-colored. Stocks have orig finish with added oil over numerous marks. Some repairs on one pistol at forend. One cock possibly a well done replacement. One trigger will set, the other most likely needs adjustment. Case is good. Interior cloth faded to brown. 52674-6 MGM311 (6,000-9,000)
