RARE 3-BARREL REVOLVING RIFLE MADE BY H. V. PERRY, FREDONIA, NEW YORK.H.V. PERRY FREDONIA NY3 BBL REVOLVING RIFLENSN36CALCal. 36. Overall 44", this is a very distinct German silver and steel mounted rifle with fish-belly stock and back action lock. 28" bbls are rotated by hand and locked and released by a knurled button on top of tang. Bbls are each marked "B. LOSEY / CAST STEEL" near breech and one bbl marked "H.V. PERRY / FREDONIA / NY". Benjamin Losey is listed as a gunsmith at Mott's Corner, NY from the late 1840's. H. V. Perry is listed as gunmaker in Fredonia from 1852-1865 when this curiosa was made. CONDITION: Good to very good overall. Metal is a mixed grey/brown overall with pitting especially at breech. Iron ramrod, rear thimble had been crudely re-attached with lead solder covering a portion of one of Losey's bbl markings. Hammer appears replaced or repaired and not engraved like balance of iron hardware, though German silver mounts are also plain. Well figured stock has hand worn patina a couple of small crack repairs between lock and breech. There's also a hairline at wrist. Mechanics are functional including bbl lock. Bores are crisp and well defined. 52668-1 JS (3,000-5,000)
