CURLY MAPLE FLINTLOCK KENTUCKY RIFLE BY HENRY NOLL FRANKLIN COUNTY PA.H NOLLFL/ F/SNSN54Cal. 54. Overall 56-1/4". Buttplate 4" x 1-1/4". 40-3/4" full oct rifled bbl signed "H. Noll". Curly maple stock is not carved but is sound throughout. 4-pc engraved brass patchbox has four piercings and finial is similar to gun #573 in Chandler's 1972 Kentucky Rifle Patchboxes and Barrel Marks. Flint lock is engraved and appears to be orig flint. Rifle has dbl set triggers. Bbl is held to stock with wedges. Large silver cheekpiece inlay engraved with American Eagle is common on Franklin County guns. CONDITION: Rifle is in fine condition. Mechanics are functional. Lock and patchbox are in working order. Stock has dents and scratches consistent with age but there is no evidence of wood replacement. There is a crack running form front screw of sideplate to trigger guard.
