CURLY MAPLE PERCUSSION KENTUCKY RIFLE SIGNED BY M.A. FILMAN IN MILTON PA. M.A. FILMAN NA NSN 36 Cal. 36. Overall 60-1/4". Buttplate 4-1/4" x 1". 4-3/8" full oct rifled bbl signed "M.A. Filman". Filman worked in the upper Susquehanna school of gunsmithing in Milton, PA from 1820-1861. The cheekpiece on this gun is winged style which is popular in New York state. The gun has dbl set triggers. CONDITION: Poor. There is a large chunk of wood missing on comb forward of buttplate. The percussion lock is a replacement and the lock screw and tear shaped sideplate are missing. There is wood missing forward of the lock and along the first 14" of bbl on both sides. The bbl has been cut from the rear about 2-1/2". Mechanics need attention. 51873-24 RGG (1,000-2,000)
