PERCUSSION RIFLE MADE BY ZACHARIAH ALBRIGHT IN CENTRE COUNTY PA CIRCA 1850.ALBRIGHTPERC KENTNSN45Cal. 45. Overall 56-1/2". Buttplate 3-3/4" x 1". 41-1/4" full oct rifled bbl signed "ZA" by Zachariah Albright. The maple stock is fitted with a 4-pc brass engraved patchbox with eight piercings. The patchbox door is nicely engraved with a bird and shield. Rifle has a 5" brass saddle plate. There is silver half moon inlay on cheekpiece and gun has a percussion Ashmore warranted lock. Jacob Albright lived in Penns Valley in Haines township, Centre county Pennsylvania where he died in 1840. Jacob Albright had many children including Zachariah and David Albright, both gunsmiths. This rifle has a ZA engraved in graceful script on the bbl. CONDITION: Rifle is in fine condition. Mechanics are functional. Lock and dbl set triggers are in good working order.
