1812 DATED FRENCH MODEL 1777 MUSKET. FRENCH 1777 70 69 Cal. 70. Standard configuration 59-1/2" overall, with 44-1/2" bbl dated "1812" on left side of breech with inspector marks and "Mle 1777" on tang. Lock is marked with "ST. ETIENNE" arsenal markings and most parts have small inspector marks. CONDITION: Good to very good overall. Metal cleaned and overall grey with staining and pitting. Rear bbl band is poorly fit with a different assembly number. Stock is sound and solid. Worn edges with numerous cosmetic blemishes. Top jaw screw is replaced. Mechanically fine with smooth clear bore. 52646-1 JS (1,200-1,500)
