AMERICAN 18TH CENTURY KENTUCKY FLINTLOCK PISTOL. UNKNOWN FLINTLOCK PISTOL NSN 65 Cal. 65. Classic American tiger maple stocked Revolutionary War era pistol measuring 14-1/2" overall with 9" smooth bore bbl with commercial London proofs. Simple brass mounts. This is a classic example of pistols made in Colonial America utilizing parts available and American ingenuity. According to consignor, this gun came from same auction as some affects of Simon Girty, the "White Savage" of French & Indian War and Revolutionary War's fame. CONDITION: Good to very good overall. Gun appears orig with the exception of replaced hammer screw. Iron is a mottled grey overall with pitting, especially at breech and battery as expected with use. Mechanically functional with slight play in cock sear. Stock is sound with a light old refinish with good color and patina. 52305-3 JS (3,500-4,500)
