UNIQUE EARLY AMERICAN FLINTLOCK KENTUCKY PISTOL. UNATTRIBUTED FL KY PISTOL NSN 36 Cal. 36. 12-1/2" overall. 6-1/2" oct bbl unmarked other than "R. ASHMORE" trade lock. Gun is iron mounted with a , very unique "club butt" feature, plain sheet metal trigger guard and ramrod thimbles. Lockplate escutcheon is copper and quite distinctive with hexagonal ends. CONDITION: Good to very good overall. Metal is a mixed gray/brown patina. Front thimble pin has been replaced with a tack. Stock is sound retaining much of a varnish finish with scattered areas of scuffing and other cosmetic blemishes. Mechanics need some attention. Smooth pitted bore. 52594-30 JS (1,000-2,000)
