CASED HIGH ORIGINAL CONDITION PAIR OF J.H. JAMAR FLOBERT ACTION TARGET PISTOLS. UNMARKED TARGET PISTOL NSN/NSN 22 BB Cap Cal. 22 BB CAP. 10-1/2" Blued octagon bbls have adjustable target sights. Flobert type actions with firing pin integral with hammer nose/ breech block are case hardened.Marked J.H. Jamar on underside of barrel, visable when stocks are removed. Half stocks of figured European walnut have nicely checkered flared grips. Iron furniture is color case hardened. Trigger guards have finger spurs. Grips are steel capped. Pistols are housed in fancy walnut veneered case with rosewood trim. Shaped German silver plaque on top is engraved with coat of arms and "A. De Lanefranque". Case is lined in scarlet cloth and french fitted for guns. Orig accessories include an ebony handled turnscrew and an ebony oil bottle. This magnificent cased pair of pistols were acquired in 1955 from the collection of Charles Porter. This collection was offered August 1955 by the auction house of Robert C. Eldred. PROVENANCE: Consignor states that they were made by J. H. Jamar. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining nearly all orig finishes on wood and metal. Metal has scattered flaking and light rust spots. Wood has some dents and light marks, especially one pistol with ten or so small dents on left side near action. Case is good. Top has some cracks and separation of banding. Renewed interior cloth in lid; orig cloth is fine. 52589-1 MGM347 (3,500-4,500) W/CASE
