FINE PAIR OF GILT METAL STOCKED BALKAN FLINTLOCK PISTOLS WITH NIELLO ENAMEL, CIRCA 1820. UNKN FLINTLOCK PISTOLS NSN 20 BORE Cal. 20 bore. This elegant pair of pistols measure about 17" overall with 10-1/2" bbls, relief engraved with makers marks at breech. Stocks retain much of their orig gilt and niello enamel. CONDITION: Very good overall, steel is gray overall with staining and pitting, stocks retain about 70-80% gilt with balance dark mustard/chocolate patina with much of the dark enamel retained. One pistol mechanics are fine, the second will not hold on full cock and needs attention. Lock screws on one gun appear restored but do not affect the overall aesthetics. 52632-4 JS (4,000-6,000)
