DAKOTA ARMS CUSTOM SHOP "AFRICAN" MODEL 76 BOLT ACTION RIFLE WITH GOLD INLAY AND SCROLL ENGRAVING. DAKOTA ARMS AFRICAN rifle 4311 458 LOTT MODERN Cal. .458 Lott. 24" Medium weight bbl is fitted with quarter rib holding one standing leaf express rear sight; sleeved-on sling eye, and sleeved-on front base holding gold bead, with flip-up white night bead. Base is fitted with slip-on sight protector. Model 76 Mauser type action fitted with Dakota Arms sight scope bases, features engine turned bolt with pear shaped handle, Model 70 type safety, and large drop box bottom metal with hinged floorplate. Metal parts have sprays of scroll engraving within inlaid gold wire borders and flourishes. Bottom of floorplate is gold inlaid with semi-relief portrait of cape buffalo framed by scroll and gold borders. Very fine European walnut stock is nicely veined and figured, and features steel grip cap with gold "DA" logo, Silver type pad, shadow line right hand cheekpiece, ebony forend tip, and vacant gold oval on toe line. Checkering is of classic point pattern with mullered borders. Drop at heel: approx 2", drop at comb: approx 1-7/8". Cast: neutral. Weight: 9 lbs. 12 oz. LOP: 15-1/2". CONDITION: Excellent, essentially as new, possibly only fired two or three times since proof, with only a few of the faintest of handling and assembly marks on all surfaces. 53101-2 mgm32 (10,000-15,000)
