WESTLEY RICHARDS DELUXE BOLT ACTION DANGEROUS GAME RIFLE IN .375 H&H.WESTLEY RICHARDSBOLT RIFLE43383375MODERN(ca 1985) Cal. .375 H&H Magnum. 24-1/2" Bbl is fitted with island base holding one standing, three folding leaf express rear sight, and Westley Richards patent "best" quality front ramp with flip-over hood holding silver bead with flip-up night bead. Top of bbl is engraved "WESTLEY & CO ENGLAND" and rear portions engraved "REGULATED FOR" "300 GRN. BULLET". Standard length Model 98 Mauser action is marked with makers name, caliber, and SN on right side of receiver ring. Action is fitted with EAW scope mounts. Bolt with turned down knob has been engine turned, and had after market shroud with Model 70 type safety fitted. Drop box magnum length bottom metal has hinged floorplate with release in trigger guard bow. All metal parts are engraved with near full coverage on action, and sprays on bbl and sight bases, of very nicely cut large open shaded acanthus scroll. Dense, well streaked, and somewhat figured European walnut steel trap capped pistol grip stock features Monte Carlo comb with shadow line swept cheekpiece, reinforcing stock bolt, hard rubber forend tip, and well cut point pattern checkering. Stock measures 14-1/2" over Silver type pad. Grip cap is case hardened. Drop at heel: approx 2-3/4", drop at rear of Monte Carlo: approx 1-7/8", drop at comb: approx 1-5/8". Cast: neutral. Weight: 9 lbs. 0 oz. LOP: 14-1/2". CONDITION: Excellent, close to new, with only a few minor handling marks in wood finish, and a couple small scratches in metal. Bore is excellent. Action is smooth.
