PROVENANCE: Nathaniel Cushing Nash; Nathaniel Cushing Jr.; The prestigious personal collection of 4-time Oscar-winning Visual Effects Icon, Richard Edlund; Special Gold Medal winner at first CA Side-by-Side Society Concours d'Elegance of Fine Guns in 2000; Copy of factory ledger pages, indicating rifle was finished Nov 1906. CONDITION: It appears this lovely lightweight rifle was another one of Mr. Nash's favorites, as it shows evidence of light field use, with silvering and thinning of case hardening colors on fences, beads, and on bottom of action and forend iron from normal hand wear, otherwise bbls and stocks have only a few handling and assembly marks. Bores are excellent. Mechanically crisp. Case leather is still light in color, has a few bumps and rubs. Straps and handle are fine. Interior cloth is excellent with compressions and rubs. Labels and accessories are excellent. Perhaps the ideal New England deer rifle, this cartridge in its nitro loading, is equivalent to the 38-55. 53184-5 mgm174 (30,000-50,000)
