FIRST TIER QUALITY SIDELOCK EJECTOR SINGLE TRIGGER OVER-UNDER GAME GUN BY RENATO TELO WITH TASTEFUL FLORAL ENGRAVING BY GIANFRANCO PEDERSOLI INCLUDES CASE. RENATO TELO O/U 094 20GA MODERN (1989) Cal. 20 ga. 2-3/4" Chambers. Steve Smith and Laurie Morrow in THE ITALIAN GUN, relate "Renato Telo makes a few fine guns a year" "His work is done entirely by hand." This particular gun appears to be built on an action sourced from Luciano Bosis as when placed side by side quality and mechanism are the same. Pin placement on locks is also identical. All aspects of this gun are absolutely first rate with its 27" demi-bloc bbls with broad, matted, ventilated rib gold inlaid "ARMI RENATO TELO" on top left. Bbl flat is stamped with 1989 Italian nitro proofs, makers name, and importer (Pachmayr). Coin finished, low profile, small sized, OU, sidelock action features non-automatic safety and single non-selective trigger. Action and lockplates are engraved with truly exceptional, interesting, and tasteful deep relief tendrils of acanthus with floral highlights, which transition to Bulino foliage and flowers. This covers only about 50% of the available surface, and the remainder is left essentially unadorned, except for some nicely cut scrolling line borders. Engravers signature, "G. F. Pedersoli" is on trigger plate. Exhibition quality, beautifully marbled and intricately fiddle figured European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/2" over checkered wood butt, and features drop points and closely spaced point pattern checkering at grip. Matching slim one piece forend has Anson type release. Bore diameter: top -.621, bottom - .621. Bore restrictions: top - .017 (mod), bottom - .010 (IC). Drop at heel: 2-1/8", drop at comb: 1-3/8". Cast: neutral. Weight: 6 lbs. 11 oz. LOP: 14-1/2". Tan leather case with stitched leather corners by Nizzoli, is lined in red velvet, and contains strap. CONDITION: Excellent, showing evidence of very little field use, with only a few light handling and assembly marks. Mechanically crisp. Ejectors are slightly out of time.
