EXCEPTIONALLY RARE 28 GAUGE BROWNING "MIDAS" GRADE NEW STYLE SKEET SHOTGUN ENGRAVED BY GODIMUS AND DEWIL. BROWNING MIDAS 3294F70 28 GA MODERN; ESA Cal. 28 ga. 28" Bbls with narrow matted ventilated rib marked for "skeet" and "skeet" are also marked with Browning Morgan Utah and Montreal P.Q. addresses on left side of top bbl, twin ivory beads, and with gauge and steel, etc. information on right. Blued superposed action with gold-plated single selective trigger, is engraved in typical "Midas" style with near full coverage large open shaded acanthus scroll surrounding gold inlaid game scenes within fancy gold inlaid borders; depicting a trio of pheasant on left side and three ducks on right. A quail flies across bottom of action. Engravers signatures "A. Godimus" on left and "R. Dewil" on right bottom rear. Burl figured claro walnut square knob buttstock with fancy patterned checkering wrapping over grip, measures 14" over open sided Browning pad. Long tapered target forend is of darker wood which can be typical for Superposed guns. Bore diameter: top -.545, bottom - .545. Bore restrictions: top - .004 (skeet), bottom - .005 (skeet). Drop at heel: 1-7/8", drop at comb: 1-3/8". Cast: neutral. Weight: 6 lbs. 12 oz. LOP:14". CONDITION: Very fine as partially restored. Shows some thinning of blue at bottom of receiver from normal hand wear, Barrels and trigger bow retain most of what is likely a factory quality restored blue finish. Stocks have some light marks in what appears to be renewed finish. Bores are excellent. Mechanically fine. Consignor states that only 35 of these guns were made. 53103-1 mgm101 (8,000-12,000)
