SUPERB ALL ORIGINAL PARKER GHE 28 GAUGE SHOTGUN WITH FACTORY LETTER.PARKERGHE21787428GAMODERN; C&RCal. 28 ga. 26" Special Steel bbls. No. 00 frame. 2-3/4" chambers. Full length matted top rib with steel front bead. Automatic ejectors, automatic safety, original mid position Parker single selective trigger. Capped pistol grip buttstock, checkered in 3-pt pattern with nickel shield near toe, with 13-1/2" LOP over original Parker Bros. DHBP. Splinter forearm checkered in standard G grade pattern with engraved Deeley release and engraved steel tip. Action is engraved in typical G grade pattern with two pheasants on right in field scene, two ducks on left in marsh scene and engraved "PARKER BROS" at top of oval game scenes. Bottom of action with two pheasants in circle with light scroll border. Trigger guard with small burst of scroll at bow and SN with wavy floral pattern. All visible SNs match. Bore diameter: left - .557, right –.558. Bore restrictions: left –020 (full), right – .011 (mod). Wall thickness: left –.025 , right – .023. Drop at heel: 2-7/16", drop at comb: 1-7/16". Weight: 5 lbs, 10 ozs. Accompanied by PGCA Research letter which confirms this gun in all aspects. CONDITION: Very fine and collector quality. Bbls retain 98%+ crisp original blued finish with original strike marks still present on breech ends. Buttstock and forearm are very fine with scattered handling marks and light scratches, particularly on left side of butt towards buttplate and a couple of minor impressions on right side of forearm towards frame. Action retains more than 90% of its original case hardened finish with some light losses on trigger plate and beginning thinning on bottom of frame. Color on breech balls have thinned. Trigger guard retains about 30% of its original blue, mostly flaked from storage, not from use. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bores. According to the Parker story there were only 64 "G" grades made in 28 gauge with 26" bbls.Absolutely an as found high original condition small bore Parker worthy of serious consideration by the most advanced collectors. 52920-1 JSL (30,000-50,000)
