EXCEPTIONAL PARKER AHE 12 GAUGE SPECIAL ORDER DOUBLE TRAP SHOTGUN WITH FACTORY LETTER.PARKERAHE22442512GAMODERN; C&R; ESACal. 12 ga. 32" Acme steel bbls with full length ventilated matted top rib with twin ivory beads. No. 1-1/2 frame with bbl flats marked with overload proof marking and un-struck bbl weight of 4 lbs 2 ozs. 2-3/4" chambers. Double triggers (front trigger is articulated), automatic ejectors, non-auto safety. Straight grip buttstock is of superb dark chestnut color with straight grain through the wrist with 15" LOP over hardened red silvers type pad. Buttstock is checkered in typical AHE pattern with checkered side panels ending in carved fleur de lis and checkered through the wrist in flowing wave pattern, with well executed flame pattern at wrist in front of comb. Toe with vacant gold oval. Large beaver tail forearm with proper reinforcement lug and finely scroll engraved Deeley release is checkered in flowing wave pattern with gorgeous floral accents near frame in corners. Action is spectacularly engraved with fine scroll engraving on sides. Two Gambel's quail on left in field scene, two bobwhite quail in scene on right and marked "PARKER BROS" on both sides behind action screws. Trigger plate with 3 geese landing in marsh scene surrounded by tight scroll. Bottom of action with setter on point in field scene which is nicely framed in full scroll coverage. Fences are beaded with near full coverage scroll engraving and chain link border. Sculpted top lever with scroll engraving and top tang with bursts of scroll around tang screw and engraved "SAFE" in front of safety. Trigger guard bow is scroll engraved as is tang with SN in flowing wave border pattern. All visible SNs match. Weight: 8 lbs 4 ozs. Bore diameter: left - .732, right –.734. Bore restrictions: left – .036 (full), right – .030 (full). Wall thickness: left – .034, right – .029. Drop at heel: 2-5/16", drop at comb: 1-3/4"-. Accompanied by a PGCA letter confirming this gun in its current configuration exactly as found. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbls retain approx. 97% strong original blued finish with only very minor handling marks. Buttstock and forearm are superb and retain nearly all their original finish with only minor handling marks. Checkering is crisp. Pad which is original to the gun is starting to harden. Action retains more than 90% vivid original case color, toned at high points and hard to detect because engraving is so fine, but is bold and present throughout. Screws are crisp. Trigger guard retains approx. 90% of its original blued finish with only very minor toning noted at tang. Mechanics are crisp. Brilliant shiny bores. According to the Parker story there were only 20 AHE 12 gauge guns made with 32" Acme steel bbls. An extremely rare and fantastic original condition double trap. 52920-7 JSL (35,000-45,000)
