TRULY SUPERB CONDITION PARKER "DHE" SHOTGUN; A BENCHMARK GUN WITH PGCA LETTER.PARKERDHE20461112 GAMODERN; C&RCal. 12 ga. 2-5/8" Chambers. 2 Frame. 30" Bbls are marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. TITANIC STEEL" on concave matted rib. Bbl flats and lumps are stamped with all correct markings. Case hardened action has all correct grade and patent information on water table, and features automatic safety and nickel-plated dbl triggers. Action is engraved in usual "D" style with 80% coverage scroll surrounding vignettes of dogs on sides with "PARKER BROS" in banner at rear of these scenes, and group of four pheasant on trigger plate. Scroll engraved trigger guard has SN on tang. Nicely stump figured American walnut Parker capped pistol grip buttstock with typical "D" styling of drop points and point pattern checkering, measures 14-1/2" over skeleton steel buttplate. Vacant silver oval is on toe line. Comb is unusually broad. Matching splinter ejector forend has usual latch and patent date on iron. Bore diameter: left -.729, right - .729. Bore restrictions: left - .034 (full), right - .034 (full). Wall thickness: left - .037, right - .034. Drop at heel: 2-1/2", drop at comb: 1-1/4". Cast: neutral. Weight: 8 lbs. 4 oz. LOP: 14-1/2". Gun matches all specifications listed in PARKER IDENTIFICATION & SERIALIZATION ledger and PGCA Letter confirms the gun exactly as found today. CONDITION: Truly exceptional, original. A fine Parker by which to judge all others of its time period. Bbls retain essentially all orig lustrous factory blue, with only a few very minor marks. Action retains approx 95% orig case hardening color, thinned and silvered a bit on fences and sharp edges, with a touch of loss from cleaning on bottom right of action. Rear portion of top strap and thumbpiece are silvered, forend latch is mostly all pewter in color. Blue on trigger guard is mostly all flaked to light gray brown, with traces of blue left in engraving. Blue on skeleton butt is also flaked and lightly worn to about 40%. Stock finish remains excellent with only some light marks, possibly with some added oil on butt, checkering very lightly worn and dark. Bores are excellent. Action is tight.
